Help please! I was unable to add this bill to current bills page. This bill was introduced on November 7, 2009 and is currently up for consideration.

Wayne, can you bring us up to speed on where we are going with this? So far there are two things in the Bill that truely disturb me to the extent that it looks hopeless. My first worry is this:
People who think that we are going to stop this Bill by threatening our Congress with voting them out, are mistaken. The Democratic Congress doesn't care if they lose their present job......they each have a better job waiting for them in 2010. They only have to "play along" with the agenda. There are more than 100 Agencies formed in this Bill and each of them has to have a department head. That's where we will find our Congressmen after they are voted out. And this: Page 639 There shall be no administrative or judicial review of the methodology used to determine the amount of the incentive payment.....the determination of the amount of funding available for such incentive payment and the payment reductions .....nor the establishment of the performance standards. That phrase is found throughout the Bill. In other words, you can't sue them and they have no oversight. Is this as hopeless as it seems? Should we stop working on it? |

Wayne, would you do something for me? I posted a discussion about pgs 364-366 of the Senate bill. Would you please read sec. 1553 which starts at the bottom of 364 (a) and (b). I truly believe that this says that euthanasia, mercy killing, and assisted suicide will be legal - or that they are laying the groundwork to legalize it. This is one of the most disturbing parts of the bill I've read so far.
Thanks. |

Brenda, I keep thinking about what you said here:
"It says that the government, et al, "may not" discriminate ...if an entity 'does not' provide ...service furnished for the purpose of causing....the death of any individual, such as by assisted suicide, euthanasia, or mercy killing.'" Please tell me I'm wrong. " I am thinking that it is in preparation for the legalization of assisted suicide, euthanasia or mercy killing. Why else would they bring it up, since it is already illegal? So when it does become legal we may not discriminate against anyone who does not wish to participate. (Well, that's good of them). |

Do we win a prize if we guess the right number?
I'd say at least a hundred, especially in the medicare and medicaid parts of this thing. I'm curious; did you count the changes? Don't forget, there are a whole lot of new tax laws and changes, too. It appears that they're changing laws that have to do with money going to and coming out of the govt. They, of course, have written this so there's a whole lot more going in than coming back out to us. Wealth redistribution at it's finest. Take from us - give to them. |

Does anyone have any idea how many times the Social Security Act is amended in this? They may as well just re-write the whole Act. I'd love to know how often it is changed. Anyone want to take a guess?
